Why do I have to show my ID to have a document notarized?
Effective January 1, 2008 per the State of California, any acknowledgement or jurat may only be executed with proper identification.
What is proper ID?
A photo ID that is current or ISSUED (not expired) within the last 5 years
- Driver’s license
- Passport
- ID card issue by any state
- A valid consular ID issued by a consulate from applicant’s country of citizenship
- ID card issued by a federally recognized tribal government

Why do you have travel fees?
It is part of doing business with a traveling notary. This fee covers costs associated with travel time and expenses.
When does your commission expire?
